Project title: Website Monitor — Uptime Dashboard

The goal

Build a practical website monitoring tool that detects downtime, tracks response times, and sends Telegram alerts when a website goes down or recovers.

What I built

• An English dashboard for adding websites, reviewing availability, and viewing check history.
• Automatic HTTP checks with up to five checks running concurrently.
• SQLite storage that preserves monitoring history across restarts.
• Telegram notifications for downtime and recovery, with duplicate suppression.
• URL, DNS, and redirect validation to block private network destinations.
• A concurrency-safe limit of 100 monitored websites.

Validation

103 automated checks passed across the project test suite and independent audit.

An end-to-end test against a separate public website verified actual HTTP 200 → 503 → 200 transitions. The monitor recorded the outage and recovery, and Telegram accepted exactly two notifications without duplicates.

Project scope

This is a personal demonstration project built with Python, FastAPI, aiohttp, SQLite, and JavaScript.

The application runs locally, with checks active while the service is running and the computer is awake. Screenshots show sample monitoring data. The public-site test used an accelerated 15-second interval; normal checks are scheduled 300 seconds after the previous check completes.
